Anyone here knowledgeable about the history of cricket bats in UK? Specifically I am trying to find out more about Alfred Jameson - was it a major/famous bat maker? Used by England team? Etc

I have downloaded this app. It’s free, though there are in-App purchases. (You have to pay if you want to speak to an apostle, for example.)
It also asks you what denomination you belong to - obviously if you are a Protestant you don’t want to end up chatting to a Catholic Jesus, or vice versa.

It’s got so bad on here now that I can’t even tell whether I am being ironic.

Good theory

Personal theory (based on zero inside knowledge).
Streeting was absolutely gunning for advisers around Starmer and aiming to get them removed.
Those advisers decided to defend themselves by making out this was an attack on Starmer himself.

Suggested strategy for the BBC.
In recognition of the bad edit in the Panorama edition, they change the programme to remove that fault.
And then re-broadcast it to ensure as many people as possible get to see the corrected version.

I am coming round to the view that machines really are very close to being as intelligent as human beings in every sense.
But mainly because human beings appear to be becoming stupider.

BBC News bulletins leading on the story of an Algerian man being mistakenly released by the prison service.

Funnily enough I don't remember these cases ever leading the bulletins when an average of ten prisoners were mistakenly released a month in the final year of the last Government

Selecting music to blast out at the Halloween kids. Tried the obvious - Bach’s Toccata and Fugue, first Black Sabbath album etc - and then I thought, ‘Not listened to Mozart Mass in Cm for a while.’ Turned up volume. 5 minutes in, I am physically shaking, having undergone some kind of ASMR orgasm.

Me: ‘Shall we do Halloween stuff for local kids?’
Son (20yrs old): ‘It’s a lot of effort going to the front door all the time.’ Me: ‘We could put out a bowl full sweets for them to help themselves.’
Son: ‘Some c**t will just take them all and there’ll be an empty bowl.’ 1/2

To be clear: deportations to increase cultural homogeneity is the text book definition of ethnic cleansing. Demands that come even close to this are so far outside any democratic norm and the rule of law. What has happened to a country when this is not condemned in the strongest possible terms?

X is a cesspit led by an unhinged billionaire who is desperately trying to stir up civil war in Britain.

Nobody with any sense or decency should be there.

No organisations, government departments, or politicians should be there.

Everyone who is, is enabling this monster.
