I still haven't got used to ribbon menus so this confirms my status as a fossil.
The distance in time between now and when Microsoft Office replaced drop down menus with the ribbon bar at the top is the same as the distance between then and the fall of the Berlin Wall

I don't think I've ever felt as broken from a tech problem as I do now. Two hours trying everything I can think of to transfer my son's minecraft worlds off his (kids profile) amazon fire.

The British public implicitly believe if that if you are renting with £1m in the stock market you are wealth and if you take that money and buy your flat for £1m you suddenly have zero wealth. That’s bizarre and funny!!!

I was opening a bunch of PDFs in acrobat yesterday and my computer's fans were going wild. I have a lot of RAM so this was surprising to me. Turns out Acrobat now generates AI summaries by default when you open a file, instead of just asking if you want one (which I never do).

Research also finds 200 of 231 people notified by MoD of breach reported threats to themselves or families
At least 49 family members and colleagues of Afghans affected by the MoD’s mass data breach have been killed, according to research submitted to a parliamentary committee.
The first on-the-ground research into 350 affected people in Afghanistan, the UK or elsewhere has found that, of the 231 respondents who received notification from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) that their data had been leaked, 49 responded that either a colleague or a family member had been killed as a result of the data breach. Terry Ball runs elaborate mollusc-based tax avoidance schemes that are costing London councils millions of pounds. Yet when London Centric tracks him down, an even stranger story emerges.

Not the point, but how can making paracetamol be a notable part of a listed company's revenue? It costs pennies.
to be clear, KVUE has gotten SMOKED by this crusade. But the fact shares are *up* as the President slags their product on TV is a good example of how markets are forward looking (eg expectations were for a WORSE outcome than what we're getting)
