The Fondation Maeght in St-Paul-de-Vence has an amazing building and setting - a couple of the sculptures make me think of the public art in Hemel Hempstead.

Headphones or earbuds?
On the East Coast Line yesterday lots of chaps had overear headphones. Today on a TGV there are very few. Those who are listening to their phones are using earbuds.
Is this a cultural difference?

🚨Watch Dr Grace Brown explaining the ROSCO rip-off.

🤑Private rolling stock companies extracted at least £410 million in profits in 2023, and at least £360 million a year for the last decade.

The new Rail Bill means the ROSCO gravy train keeps rolling, extracting huge profits from passengers.

If social media companies are actively making choices about what kind of political content to highlight, then how are they different from traditional media companies? And so why aren't they liable to being sued for libel, etc, in the same way?

The ambiguous way journalists use the word “investment” makes this headline puzzling. I first thought it was about asking insurers to hold more UK assets. Reading the piece it seems to be about expanding their business in London.
But I’m not sure.

The purpose of fighting an election is to form a government.
It is not the purpose of a government to fight an election.

The real question is do the banks invest in the economy?
Britain has the largest financial sector and the lowest investment in the G7.

Good article.
I think the choice would be easier if the government had an overarching purpose.

Nadie es imprescindible, nos vamos y el mundo sigue girando, pero también es cierto que algunas ausencias parecen haberse llevado un poco de luz.

Changing your name and moving away to a new place are characteristic of a witness protection scheme.
(Normally, you give evidence first and keep your new name secret. Having the King put your new identity in a press release isn’t how it works.)
