We got stone stands, antique lands,
And miles and miles of level sands
Old hunks, half sunk
Hanging round without a trunk
Lifeless things, king of kings
Whasisname has had a push
Lying in the desert sand
Cold command upon his mush
Mush, mush, mush, mush…
And miles and miles of level sands
Old hunks, half sunk
Hanging round without a trunk
Lifeless things, king of kings
Whasisname has had a push
Lying in the desert sand
Cold command upon his mush
Mush, mush, mush, mush…

@robinince.bsky.social... will be KBOs.
But no. The options were Uranus, Neptune, Mercury & Saturn. Mercury was apparently discovered in 1500BC, and Saturn - the 5th or sixth brightest object in the sky - was discovered in 1610. I remonstrated to no avail.
Loving the book.

@robinince.bsky.social I just read p152 of "I'm a joke etc". I was at a PTA quiz night earlier this year. One round was "put 4 things in order". One question was "when planets were discovered". Ooh, I thought, this will be interesting - only 2 actual planets were discovered, so at least 2 options...

I recently had cause to phone my mobile. I was startled to hear my own voice asking me to leave a message, because I realised that I recorded that message in May 1999 and have never changed it. Sure as hell can't change it now.

I am unreasonably annoyed that every headline about Felix Baumgartners death says it was is a "paraglider" accident. Then mentions the engine. It's just sloppy and wrong.

Once again, Connections success depends on the player not being able to pronounce English words properly, aka having an American accent (and quite a specific one, too).

By now, we've all seen the video of Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) being forcibly removed and handcuffed for asking a question during Kristi Noem's press conference.
But what Noem said just moments before the video was taken is "classic authoritarian red-baiting," points out @davidcorn.bsky.social.

The Klingon noun suffix vam means "this"
The Klingon verb beQ means "be flat".
