This is happening "because the currency of scholarship—publication—is becoming increasingly detached from the notion that publication is meant to add to the sum of human knowledge. In other words, publication has increasingly become an end in itself."

BREAKING: government’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action under terrorism law ruled UNLAWFUL

This matters for everyone.

For years, the right to protest has been under sustained and deliberate attack.

Thousands of people have been arrested for something that should have never been a crime.

Palestine Action have WON their judicial review in the High Court!
A massive victory for free speech, freedom of association and the right to protest.
A massive defeat for the draconian attempts by Keir Starmer's government to curtail our fundamental rights.

"We expect to open our funding opportunities in the summer, with completion of the wider UKRI transition expected by the start of the 2027 to 2028 financial year."
Finally an official update from #MRC regarding grant application funding and severe cuts to funded research in rounds currently under review:

Not that it gives any reassurance or details beyond a comprehensive list of what is suspended.

"We were not able to do that because of information leaks outside the organisation and so we ended up having to rush comms out when we hadn’t done that engagement, for which I am very sorry"

Heritability = one of the most commonly confused concepts in public (mis)understanding of genetics. Let’s break it down.
Imagine studying a cohort of people in a specific set of environmental circumstances. You assess everyone for an observable trait & find it varies from one person to another. 🧪1/5
