Incredibly bittersweet to be published in Teen Vogue this weekend after devastating layoffs, including my editor for this piece. It’s about how beauty influencers have fallen into and become part of the alt-right pipeline targeting girls and women

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

People did warn me when I was younger to pursue high-paying fields, and I always shrugged them off. I thought, “I’m not a materialistic person, I don’t want to live in luxury—I’ll be fine making a modest salary. Money’s not important to me.”

Turns out you need a shitload of money just to be broke.

AI works exactly like all previous tech in capitalism -- it hides or erases the labor of workers from the consumer, in this case through theft. It's a pristine facade covering the touch of the human hands that constructed the building, the finish hiding the potter's fingerprints.

Haven't seen "One Battle After Another" yet (yes, I know it's ~incredible~) because I just can't stop thinking about how they gave unhoused people living in an encampment 24 hours notice to vacate so that they could film, knowing severe weather was about to roll in

Spotify is playing recruitment ads for ICE. I love the app and listen for many hours every month. But I canceled it and told them why. When my subscription is up I'll be deleting the app.

YouTube is doing the same. Additionally it's showing ads by Kristi Noem threatening Immigrants. They're next.

Two new studies show that losing access to online safe spaces — whether because of age verification laws or restrictions on LGBTQ expression — could be devastating.
