My take is that today’s shows have actually gotten MORE SUBTLE than 90s shows were when it comes to those topics
People have just gotten more aware so it doesn’t seem subtle lol

one thing that I especially like about Columbo is that he's always asking people about stuff. You look at other Smart Guy detectives, like Monk or Holmes or whoever, and the thing that's cool about them is that they happen to know everything about every subject, which is why you can't fool them.
