Hey, this Bovino thing is a pathetic attempt to make all these horrors the fault of one guy, and it would be a serious, serious crisis if people fell for it. ICE needs to be abolished, bc this - terror, murder - are what it exists for. Nothing else. This is just an attempt to mollify us. Stay angry

At our block's vigil last night we upheld them. I know others did/do.
We had artists who made name plates for everyone killed by ICE this year to put at Renee's memorial.
Their names aren't unsaid, but they're certainly not echoing as loud.
& all of us will be better served to uplift them.

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

My take on the Jan 23 action in Minneapolis is that I don’t really care whether it’s a “true” general strike (we could argue about that all day).
What DOES matter is that it’s a bold and necessary escalation, and local labor leaders are publicly encouraging workers to join in anti-ICE resistance

New party identification polling from Gallup this week shows Americans are moving against Trump faster than they did in his first term. Adults were R+4 in 2024, now D+8. That 12-pt drop is 3x the change in the first year of his first term.

No one currently alive in the US has been alive for a fully fascist Federal government. People have lived through state level fascist governments throughout history. I think some humility is needed in terms of expressed opinions.
