Amid growing calls for the abolition of ICE, Rep. Delia Ramirez is calling for the entire DHS to be dismantled. Highlighting how much experience the officers who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti had, Ramirez said, “DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity.”
House Democrat Says Abolishing ICE Isn’t Enough — DHS Must Go, Too
“The problem isn’t ‘training.’ DHS was built to violate our rights,” said Rep. Delia C. Ramirez.

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

“The federal government abducted a kid and used him as bait to try to lure out his parents, who are in the country legally, so they can be detained without charges and sent to Texas”

Think about how ridiculous that sounds to someone who hasn’t been paying attention. It sounds like I made it up!

If your solution to the ICE problem is more training and body cams, after Jonathan Ross, a 10 Year ICE veteran, murdered Renee Good and captured the act on his OWN PHONE, you are an enemy of the people and cannot be trusted as a public servant ever again.

hennepin county sheriff’s office ramped up their work helping ICE even as dawanna witt announces her campaign kickoff. reports from whipple say they are acting as crowd control

they’ve created a barrier and ICE are barely guarding the gates now because HCSO are doing it for them. this frees up ICE
remember that the sheriff is an elected position, and dawanna witt is up for reelection in november. let’s see if the way hennepin county sheriffs have been assisting ICE spurs a challenger

Here is another org that can desperately use your help. If a non-citizen get kidnapped by ICE here, regardless of status, they are flying them out of the state as soon as the can. Legal representation can be the difference between seeing your family again, or, given conditions in TX, life and death.

This is CRITICAL. I know you’re all putting your back into mutual aid & a thousand other great things, but if there’s anything left here, so many folks depend on these front-line lawyers right now.

It is so funny that the Save Our Street people in Saint Paul are having all of their meetings at the church led by a pastor whose day job is running the local ICE field office.

The old constitutional order is gone, and we should be straightforward about that. It’s obvious that, whatever else is on the reconstruction agenda, ICE abolition must be included.

For goodness’ sake, Bill Kristol is in favor of it. Can you really not get there? trib.al/Au0nOrx

I feel like people who are telling folks in Minnesota not to take the bait so Trump doesn’t invoke the Insurrection Act have a lot more good faith in an aging cruel dipshit who is being feed a steady diet of AI slop by scheming viziers who dream of invoking the Insurrection Act than I do.

No one is taking the bait. Regular people armed only with whistles and phones are trying to prevent their neighbors from being disappeared by unaccountable masked armed goons. The differential in power and force between these two sides is so immense it is laughable to even consider them together.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

He’s right, I’ve been buying groceries for all of my neighbors.
Despite Trump’s promises, grocery prices are still rising fast. Families can’t afford this… when is he going to get serious about lowering costs?

Where are my elected officials while my neighborhood has been terrorized by ICE all week? Why do they treat their constituents like rubes for protecting our neighbors? Every one of my neighbors is more brave than any of my electeds and any member of ICE.

I just spent 2.5 hours outside watching ICE vehicles. My entire neighborhood is outside telling them to leave. I am so proud of my neighbors, and so fucking sick of these fascist pigs.

What I wouldn’t give for just a single elected to have our back instead of this shit that implies we are some unruly mob in need of constant checking
