Whatever’s in the Epstein files about Trump is so bad that he called them a hoax, accused Obama of treason, shut down the Epstein investigation, recessed Congress to prevent a vote on releasing the files, and rushed his criminal attorney to prison to offer Epstein’s accomplice an immunity deal

Just before the 2010 election, I heard an interview with a BNP guy by Stephen Nolan on 5Live.
Nolan started the interview by saying he wouldn't be asking about immigration but the other BNP policies.
BNP guy was floored and babbled nonsense for 10 minutes.
The BBC should try the tactic with Farage.

More should do this. Politicians, organisations, members of the public

The over representation of Reform UK reaction to issues, by not just the BBC, but many media outlets, is in plain sight. But the BBC praises itself for impartiality and balance. It’s paid for by public license fees.

Enough is enough. ❌

I, along with my @libdems.org.uk colleagues from across the South West, have written to South West Water CEO Susan Davy, calling for her resignation.

Ofwat's recent report found that South West Water was failing at both an operational and management level.

brexit is making us poorer

austerity is killing people and slowing our progress

fossil fuel subsidy is countering climate action

FPTP makes our democracy unrepresentative

our media is dividing us

privatisation is ruining public services

the rich won't leave if we tax them

@danneidle.bsky.social I have a theory that taxing everyone equally using bands that focus on the top end of their earnings would be a fairer tax system. Eg top 1pct is taxed at xpct, top 5pct at ypct etc. maybe repeat for CGT. Any merit?

Can someone tell the Israeli embassy that we are "deeply disturbed" by its genocide and the best way to stem increasing anti Israeli sentiment to stop murdering innocent Brown people.
It’s exhausting thst our govt is quicker & more vociferous in condemning chants vs the indiscriminate murder of innocent civilians inc thousands of children. Whatever you think abiut the chanting, there must be a part of you that can see the IDF’s actions are worse. 🧵 news.sky.com/story/israel...

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

Well, I work in migrants' rights and policy, so pretty much everything, but to pick specifics:

1) That most migrants cannot access any form of state support.

2) That migrants can pay tens of thousands of pounds per visa
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

For most media the audience aren't the customers: they are the product that is delivered to the customers.

A key advantage of electrification is we'll get to say goodbye to the calamitous effects of precarious oil prices, which go haywire every time a pariah state bombs another country.
Israel’s attacks on Iran are already hurting global oil prices, and the impact is set to worsen
Despite not relying on Iran for its oil supplies, petrol and other prices in Australia will rise due to the global impact of the Israel–Iranian war.
