Today is vote counting day. Most exciting part of Irish elections. It goes round by round with a candidate being eliminated each round and their votes being redistributed to those still in the running.

If I understand it correctly, it's not exactly a reinterpretation. The English and Maori translations are slightly different and the proposal was to ditch the Maori translation in favour of the English in cases of a difference. In Ireland, the Irish translation is always the one deferred to.
