I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

I think perhaps the most lasting, worst part of being coerced into bottom surgery is the way it destroyed my confidence for future decisions. Rationally I know I'm not going to regret a boob job, rhinoplasty, or even getting my nipples pierced, while that experience emotionally says otherwise.

I guess that I'm getting to the "it will always be there but it won't always hurt so much" point about vaginoplasty.
It's never going to not fucking suck - being unable to have sex or orgasms isn't ever going to be okay - but at least I'm not utterly despondent over how hopeless it is.

incidentally the whole thing about "your brain is still developing until youre 25" that is the basis of weirdo adult age discourse is based on a study that only examined brains up to 25 years old. ie brain developing was still happening at every age within the scope, they never found some "it stops"

Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.

In three days we won't have money for heating fuel, feed, or groceries. We're basically fucked. I need a goal of $2000 by the end of November, about $500 of that needs to be immediate, and we've never made a goal before.

Do I ever understand this one! Going to the support group my therapist in the 2000s ran and "strongly encouraged" her clients attend made me understand why I needed to not stay in trans support spaces, online or IRL, long-term. I ended up leaving after I had bottom surgery.
i've come to understand why there are so few trans women hanging around online "trans spaces" beyond the first few years.
