Yeah I think these officials should just straight up say what the issue is. It's a full-on authoritarian crackdown and they are not doing more about it because they either cannot or will not. Whichever it is should be stated plainly IMO
Your constituents lives have been turned over entirely because of a federal occupation. That you’re pulling your punches because you’re worried about it becoming a constitutional crisis is overlooking what is already happening. You need to at least communicate that you understand what is happening.
