"average ulaid warrior kills five of the connachta every year" factoid actually just statistical error. average ulaid kills no connachta, because of the curse. cú gheoirg, who guards the fords and kills over 10,000 connachta each day, was an outlier adn should not have been counted
recently feeling constantly out of the loop in all of my friend groups like i only ever have half the information on anything. "is X doing Y these days?" "they're mostly doing Z ever since they took over A's job!" i did not know they took over A's job 👍

i don't even call my actual aunts and uncles "aunt" or "uncle" to their face lmao we're a first names only kind of family, and i do distinguish from more distant relations cos i barely know my parents' cousins, but... i am able to grasp the concept that other people do it differently! wild, that!

generally in most life situations i am not a huge fan of hierarchies but frankly i think the class i am currently in could do with a stronger teacher-student hierarchy so the other students stop completely derailing the class and i can actually learn what i'm here to learn

i feel like the difference between historians on the internet and history enthusiasts on the internet is the latter will present you with Facts They've Learned, As Facts, and the former will give you a lengthy explanation of what people for the last however many years have thought might be the case.

trans healthcare is often lifesaving for more reasons than suicidality. for example, my disordered eating basically disappeared overnight after i got top surgery, because it was dysphoria the whole time (lose weight = smaller boobs = pursue indefinitely until it becomes unsafe). this is important!

i do not know how i made it through so many years of my life without an air purifier. like i know where i live now is more of a pollen hotspot than some of my past addresses and also that climate change is affecting hayfever but truly how did my immune system not just kill me

trying to tidy my house enough that i could feasibly get a cleaner in to do a deep clean for allergy purposes but of course i've done like. two surfaces and then run out of energy and also have a terrible headache and feel super dizzy. i am never getting this flat clean am i

these days i've come to the conclusion that neither gender nor sex (insofar as they are understood to be separate at all) should be regulated by law and there is no actual reason for the government to be involved in either that doesn't represent some form of discrimination or inequality

one (1) local friend expressed enough interest for me to take this as encouragement so i have texted the one person i know who both plays ttrpgs and is better at irish than me (from what i can tell from brief conversations)
i have zero interest in roleplaying in english but i think this would actually be a banger way to learn languages and i'm legit contemplating whether i can set up an irish-language ttrpg group in my local pub

i miss when memrise was good and i could just go learn three hundred words of vocab from my own lists and it was a fun and practical way to fidget on my phone and learn stuff at the same time. it was compelling! i learned so much!
