This is the polite way of saying that Trump has illegally given all of our tax records to Peter Thiel's fascist AI slop shop.
In September, IRS began a $14.2 million contract with Palantir to build a unified API, but little is known about the process by which this contract was awarded or what protections are in place for taxpayer data. - @vanessawilliamson.bsky.social at @donmoyn.bsky.social

NEW—US Park Police w/ DHS officers near DC are increasingly pulling over Black and brown men, leaving their work vans on the side of the parkway + immediately calling a local towing company to take them. Families who just lost their breadwinner are stuck with the bill.

I’m afraid “the media cares about Presidential acuity” had a time of death sometime in July 2024.
Daily reminder that this ridiculous person has lost his mind and it's unbelievable it's not a central issue in our politics.

it cost me close to $80 a month to have a landline in brooklyn
AT&T has been trying to get rid of landlines in California for YEARS because they are expensive and annoying to maintain, with shrinking market share. The people who use them, however, REALLY need them for safety and communication esp in rural areas with limited cell coverage.
They rely on copper landlines for emergencies. AT&T could threaten their lifeline
AT&T is fighting to ease regulations requiring landlines, which cost it $1 billion per year in California. It has spent big on lobbying.

Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino "also revered Starship Troopers, Robert Heinlein's 1959 military sci-fi classic about an interstellar war between humans and alien bugs - a book his sister says he still reads to this day."
An endless amount of deranged details in this interview with Greg Bovino's sister, but most notably that his uncle produced the Jack Nicholson movie The Border and the depiction of the agent as corrupt radicalized him as a 12-yr-old.

"Since then, he was like, 'Dude, I want to do Border Patrol.'"
How a family secret led Greg Bovino to lead Trump's border crackdown
Before he became the face of Trump's tough ICE policies, Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino endured a childhood marked by a family scandal that changed the trajectory of his life.

You look at this Reid Hoffman, Larry Summers, Clinton... all I want is I want for people to recognize the great job I've done on pricing, on affordability."

Trump has so little respect for the media (knowing he can snow them about everything) he doesn’t even bother to try and substantiate his affordability claims. “I’m great on affordability” is literally the full argument.
