This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years.

These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.

Kristi Noem and her department’s latest attempt to mislead the American public regarding the brutal and unjustified killing of Alex Pretti is deeply shameful, and she must be impeached and removed from office immediately.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

We must stress: The only violence is coming from CBP/ICE. They are rioting in the face of sustained nonviolent protests by thousands of Americans across the country.

They are today’s Alabama State Troopers at the Selma bridge. They are Bull Connor’s police with firehoses in Birmingham.

the Dems keep operating like this cynical shit has no effect. It’s why their core voters don’t fucking show up. When they say “we fight for you” nobody believes them, because they constantly pull shit like this and say “what else are you gonna vote for.” But then people STAY HOME.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

A not insignificant number of people knew the demolition was coming, including people at the White House Historical Association, and did nothing to stop it.
I see that @whitehousehistory.bsky.social put out a statement yesterday stating that they were able to complete a “comprehensive digital scanning project” to document the East Wing, and that the historic artifacts have been preserved and stored.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

What DHS pulled in Chicago on Tuesday is wildly unconstitutional. They smashed down almost every door in the building, dragged entire families into the street, and detained people for hours ("Kavanaugh stops").

Ms. Fisher was held for five hours and another senior citizen was held for three hours.

'Didn’t you vote to pass this?' GOP rep stumps CNN host after blasting bill he voted for
The U.S. Senate, on Wednesday, July 16, narrowly approved a rescission package being pushed by the Trump Administration. The 51-48 vote came down along party lines, with no Democrats voting "yes" and only two GOP senators voting "no": Maine's Susan Collins and Alaska's Lisa Murkowski. The package, which had already passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, includes steep cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) as well as to foreign aid. The CPB provides funds for National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Conservative Rep. Mark Amodei (R-Nevada) discussed the rescission package and his voting record during a Thursday morning, July 17 appearance on CNN. And things became awkward for Amodei when host John Berman brought "tax changes regarding gambling" that are included in the bill. READ MORE: 'The cover-up is so massive': Veteran journalist explains why MAGA won't let go of Epstein Berman noted that if gamblers break even on a day of gambling and are "still taxed on your winnings," they aren't really breaking even and are, in fact, "losing." Amodei told Berman, "Absolutely right" but added, "except that was put in in the Senate. I did not vote for that. Nobody from Nevada in the House voted for that. So now, the question when it comes back is: how do we fix that?.... You shouldn't be taxed on income that wasn't really income, regardless of who you are." Berman, however, told the Nevada congressman, "But sorry, didn't you vote to pass this bill after it came back from the Senate?" Amodei told Berman, "I voted to pass it back…. but I wasn't going to kill the whole bill over something that we think we can fix. So, if your question is, do I support that provision? No." READ MORE: Jim Jordan will now have to answer questions under oath about wrestling team scandal However, Berman again reminded Amodei, "But you did vote to pass. It wasn't enough to keep you from passing the bill?" — to which Amodei responded, "Correct."
