Just an absolute self-own by the mayor’s office: Instead of trying to make housing more affordable, let’s just wait for unregulated units to become more expensive so these other units look good again.

This is not how we solve the housing crisis. This is not how we make a city for everyone
Team Harrell’s solution? Let rents get more expensive for everyone else so these units become “affordable” again. Jesus Christ.

Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

NEW — I spoke to DoorDash about the White House claiming the company's report shows "inflation has been tamed" and whether that's an interpretation one should make. An economist also weighed in, pointing out dictatorships use data obfuscation as a tool, and right now they're "grasping at straws."
WH claims 'inflation tamed,' per DoorDash stats. Company says that's not in its report.
It comes the same week we learned the WH would likely not release key economic reports for October.

So moved and enraged by the replies to this and was thinking... maybe we should collect them and send them to Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Senate cowards.

Form here, won't collect emails unless you provide them.

Democrats seem to think the pivoting to the center makes them most electable but all it does it piss *everyone* off.

Having beliefs/a backbone and being authentic is the best way to win elections. People are fucking sick of croneyism and corporate suck ups and that is why Zohran cruised to victory

Why is SPD intimidating taco vendors
Taco Stand on Northgate was back open tonight. As I went we watch SPD go around in circles and turns on their sirens a few times. What is this? This seems very strange if they’re doing something wrong then talk to them. This felt like intimidation

@councilmember-amr.bsky.social (plus your colleagues not on Bluesky) there are plenty of things SPD could be doing on a Saturday night. This is not one of them

Along with everything else, Trump admitting the shutdown led to a bloodbath for Republicans should at an absolute minimum lead Dem Senators to shelve their apparent plan to prematurely cave. He's admitting he and the GOP are in a weak position, Dems. Exploit that!
Trump to Republican senators: "I thought we'd have a discussion after the press leaves about what last night represented and what we should do about it and also about the shutdown and how that relates to last night. If you read the pollsters, the shutdown was a big factor, negative for Republicans."
