The Trump administration is doing this in our name

"’Officers have crushed detained people's testicles, slammed people to the ground, stomped on them and punched their faces’”

“‘The amount of violence that we have heard about officers using against detained people is creating a crisis situation’”

Dan Richman is a professor at Columbia Law School and a leading authority on criminal procedure—not exactly an ideal target for Fourth Amendment violations.

I’d love to see what his Crim Pro exam looks like this year.
NEWS: Dan Richman — key figure in now-dismissed Comey case — wins motion for return of materials seized from his devices.

Judge finds his rights were violated, orders that DOJ can only access data pursuant to lawful warrant.

Order could complicate efforts to re-indict Comey.

#NEWS: The U.S. Court of Appeals has issued a decision allowing an order blocking President Trump’s deployment of California National Guard troops in Los Angeles to take effect.

For the first time in six months, there will be no military deployed in the streets of Los Angeles.
NEWS: @governor.ca.gov & I are suing to put a stop to President Trump’s unlawful, unprecedented order calling federalized National Guard forces into LA.

Trump is trying to manufacture chaos and crisis on the ground for his own political ends.

This is an abuse of power—and not one we take lightly.

Update: DOJ haw now sued 18 states.

My law firm has already filed to intervene to defend voters in 13 of the first 14 cases. We are working on the remains 5.

This is an insane effort by DOJ and we are a small firm. But we are committed to protecting free and fair elections in 2026.

More soon.
DOJ has sued Maine, Oregon, California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Washington, Delaware, Maryland, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Vermont for access to its most sensitive voter data.

My firm has moved to intervene in 10 of those cases. We are working on the last 4.
