Ginny cares for her husband Tim, who has myotonic dystrophy. She works part-time, on top of caring for him every day.

Now, under the Government’s PIP changes, they face losing £12,000 a year. Today I asked the Prime Minister: what does he expect carers like Ginny to do?

As someone from an immigrant background, I am deeply insulted by Starmer's comments. This kind of hateful language just demonises and scapegoats immigrants even more.
Keir Starmer says immigration system is “almost designed to permit abuse” and that it risks “pulling the country apart”.

PM says UK needs tougher rules to reduce immigration significantly or it risks becoming “an island of strangers”.

The most recent YouGov poll says that more 2024 Labour voters would vote Lib Dem (15%) than Reform (12%). Moving to the right is only going to do even more damage to Labour's voter base.

On another note, Lib Dems joint first among 18-24 year olds 😍🔶

Amazing that the Lib Dems have overtaken Labour and pushed the Conservatives into third 🔶💪

Although with the attention Reform is getting in the media, you'd be forgiven for not noticing...

Daisy is correct and this is a completely stupid thing to say. How can you say something like this when hardly 10% of Council seats have been called??

'Please just be honest with me. I like you anyway, but this is a shocking night, isn't it?'

@nickferrarilbc.bsky.social asks Deputy Lib Dem Leader Daisy Cooper if she’ll acknowledge the party's underwhelming local election performance.

The proposal to test trans kids for autism smacks of the politics of RFK Junior. It pathologises two groups that deserve protection by the NHS (trans kids and autistic ones) in an attempt to remove their bodily autonomy. We should all see this for what it is: something that has no place in the UK.

claiming all trans ppl are autistic is functionally the same as claiming all gay ppl are mentally ill.

it's about denying queer ppl autonomy and a voice.

Today I spoke in solidarity with trans and non-binary people whose rights are being threatened by this cruel government.

Trans people deserve dignity and safety.

The rise in hate crimes, including in North Yorkshire, should alarm us all.

Upcoming EHCR guidance must recognise trans people’s existence, prioritise their safety, and inclusion.

Equality must mean equality for everyone.

When he came to office, Keir Starmer promised a government that would "tread more lightly" on people's lives.

Bridget Phillipson's announcement that trans folks should use the wrong toilets is offensive and ignorant.

It shows Labour to be no better than the US Republicans. They should be ashamed.

Thank you for standing up for our community and for our party's values today, Vikki. 💛
I am deeply concerned. I note she ignored my request to join Dorset Space Project LGBT group when they visit Parliament next week.

There was a huge backlash against this tweet I posted about a year ago from Labour members and activists.

I stand by every word I said.
April 22, 2025 at 6:11 PM
It is so deeply shameful that the Labour Party, which is meant to have traditionally centre-left social democratic roots, is now swinging to the right on many issues, all in the name of appeasing Reform voters.

You do not defeat the radical right by appeasing them.

Far from being feminist, assuming people are 'male until proven otherwise' is about as patriarchal as you can get.

This Labour government is monstrous. Performative cruelty in a red tie is as bad as performative cruelty in a blue one. Worse, as they led us to expect better. 🥀

We're organising. 🔶✊🏳️‍⚧️

I am increasingly disappointed that the concerns of the #LGBTQ+ community over what the Supreme Court judgement means for them are not yet being addressed. I have written to the Government asking them to make clear how trans and non binary rights will be protected.

For trans people, today’s Supreme Court ruling on the Equality Act isn’t just a legal ruling but a decision that creates genuine fear about everyday aspects of life—accessing services, using facilities, and simply being accepted for who you are.
April 16, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Trans rights should NEVER be up for debate. I am disgusted at the decision made today that will cause huge distress and harm to trans & non-binary people.

I will always stand with trans and non-binary people and will always fight for their right to be respected and loved 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

We are studying today's judgement by the UK Supreme Court.

Nothing they rule will change our solidarity with the trans+ community and with everyone who seeks to live their lives under control of their own bodies, and free from poverty, ignorance or conformity.

One way to reduce the alarming levels of child poverty that we see in Liverpool is to scrap the two child benefit cap, something that Lib Dem MPs have consistently called for.

It is therefore extremely disappointing that only one of Liverpool's 5 Labour MPs voted to scrap it last year.
