Hey new people. I’m Steph. I’ve been a game dev for 30 years. I sold my first short story when I was 13. You probably haven’t heard of me.

I sometimes post photos of cats and food and kids. I also love weird disasters and…MURDER.
lol 50 years of preventing infant death and one asshole and his band of merry dipshits is trying to undo it all
Kennedy says adding folic acid to tortillas is “waging war” against poor residents. Folic acid has long been added to cereal and bread and the CDC website currently says it’s safe for those with the mutation mentioned in the thread Kennedy is replying to.

My first house. Built in the 30s. Solid brick and could survive a bomb blast but no room in the kitchen for a dishwasher. Became my first lesson in creating a “non-negotiable” list when house buying.

Also a house my family rented in the 80s. One bathroom. No dishwasher. 4-5 of us crammed in there.
imagining living with anyone or in any place *without a dishwasher* is what gives me the ick
OK team, there is a debate in the girls chat, and I have absolutely no idea which side to join in with, if any

If you, a girl, go home with a guy, and he has dishes in his sink or dish drying rack, does that give you the ick

You shake yourself awake in the cold North Atlantic water. You are not online. It is July of 1858. You are a baleen whale, and you have changed your mind. The future most not come to pass. The telegraph cable must break.

Hey so for my kids at least, the Nex Playground has turned out to be a big hit. Living in a state that’s 99% rainfall, I’m very excited to have a game toy that gets them tired out during these wet months.

I’ll let you know if they’re still into it in 6 months.

Look, I'm sure that Nolan's adaptation of "The Odyssey" will be fun, but I highly doubt it will be as good as the original.

Sitting amidst the wreckage. This year was particularly good for kids due to some well timed windfalls.

The difference between Christmas today and Christmas 10 years ago is that the kids now bring me coffee before I come downstairs. 😌

A much younger Steph went to an E3 after-party in the mid-2000s with some White Wolf and CCP Games people at a really nice home in the Hollywood hills. When I (very intoxicated) asked whose home it was, my WW friend said, “He’s the CEO of Infinity Ward.”

The confusion and conflation of ‘generative ai that is built on stolen artwork’ and ‘machine learning, character behaviour modelling and proc gen’ is intentional on the part of the grifters peddling the former. They benefit from murkiness of classification, because the latter predates their bollocks

Normally at this time of year it’s colder. Like at least ~10-15 degrees colder. But due to (gestures frantically at the sky) it HASN’T been and thus all my garlic and bulbs are sprouting way, way too early.

DEATH BY LIGHTNING is really damn good, in spite of being riddled with inaccuracies and anachronisms, and a strangely prophetic First Lady.

But the cowards made NO MENTION OF THE PRESIDENTIAL BOOFING which is probably fine for most of you.
