Two things can be true: 1.) The Game Awards are meaningless and we shouldn't take them all that seriously. 2.) Award shows of its scale DO rewrite the mainstream history of the art form, whether they deserve to or not, and its okay to care that it's so thoughtless despite having that responsibility.

since we've finished the season (like, months ago) i figured i'd finish my sketch of my guildmates all tucking into a feast of the midnight masquerade :3c

I have so many dreams that wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin. We need more stories about us and our culture. You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.

Daily comic 318: Margo's harrowing afternoon

The top caption simply says "Yesterday:" In panel 1, my two cats are sitting in their fancy heated cat beds on the window seat. My shorthair cat Egg Noodle is resting his head on the edge of his bed, head empty, and my longhair cat Margo is sitting up and looking out the window as I (a human woman) return from work with my keys in-hand. Margo has scraggly speech bubbles with unnecessary accents over all the vowels (as it her way) that say "the lady returns from her toils. now is Margo's chance." Panel 2 shows Margo darting out of the front door next to my legs as I open the door; her speech bubbles say "freedom for Margo! freedom for bird murder!" and I have a speech bubble saying "Wha-- Margo-what-the-fu--" Panel 3 shows Margo standing stationary on the brick stoop of our house, with a blank expression on her face as I am seen reaching down toward her from the doorway.
