I mean, that feels a little relevant when they won game 7 pitching Shoei, Glasnow, Snell and Yamamoto.

If you're saying more teams could spend to make their teams competitive, I 100% agree.

But I'd love to see the data where it shows that 22-25 teams can support a payroll like LA.
I guess you can make this argument for Yamamoto and sorts Snell specifically but they traded for half those guys, signed Freeman to a very obvious at the time steal, and ~25 teams would’ve signed that Ohtani deal if they could

(it isn’t local TV rights anymore, that’s last generation’s battle)
This is wild when the Dodgers just won the series using the starting rotation which makes over $100 mil per year and a lineup with 3 MVPs.

The Dodgers willingness is because they have a giant TV deal.

This isn't that hard. You can tip your hat to the Dodgers while stating the obvious.

wow that fucking sucks yeah no audience, my wife and I did a Bluesky-exclusive fundraiser for kids in foster care (which Republicans, as you the politics knower knows, don't give a shit about) and raised $50k in 24 hours on here
One of the biggest mistakes left-of-center pundits and influencers made was decamping to Bluesky. They made themselves irrelevant, shrunk their audiences, and dramatically lessened the positive impact they could have on our public debate at the precise time we needed it most.

The mass starvation & killing of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli gov’t is a chillul hashem, a desecration of God.

Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesn’t use should raise their voices loudly here as well.

Gaza is starving. Where are the American Jewish leaders?
A fear of being labelled antisemitic still deters American Jews and Jewish institutions from taking a position that is morally correct.

This was Vin Scully's call of Henry Aaron's 715th home run. Tonight Major League Baseball cut off the first sentence, starting it with the "What a marvelous moment" part because they don't want to anger the white supremacists who run our country and of whom Rob Manfred is an ardent supporter.

Notable that MLB alternated calls in that tribute, and edited around Vin Scully saying “A Black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol.”
