She/her. DO NOT HUG. Tea, books, baking, bicycles. Chocolate. #OU Astronomy student. #ActuallyAutistic. 🏳️‍🌈
Pinned
I'm #autistic. I'm a stealth #disasterbisexual #xennial.
I'm a perimenopausal part-time astrophysics student, full-time broadcast news flunky, with a gift for falling off (a) bikes when stationary, (b) shoes with anything narrower than a Doc Martens sole.
Mostly, I'm tired.
Happy Nearly the Weekend.
I'm #autistic. I am a #chaosbisexual younger #millennial.

I'm a lapsed physicist turned historian turned forecasting enthusiast. Also I test and document software now idk. But mostly I'm tired 😂

Happy Friday, happy timezone
I'm #autistic. I'm #alivingnitemare I'm #Millennial. I'm a freelance writer, who also started on my first book which may be out by the end of 2029. But mostly.. I'm TIRED. TIRED of my brain controlling me, but I carry on, what choice do I have. Happy Thursday(or whatever day you're reading this).
You have to know when to be quiet. And Morn never shuts up.
While never seen on screen, this sign was posted outside the DS9 library.

I'm sure someone has shared this with @clairewillett.bsky.social already, but just in case:
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Someone has learned the hard way not to eat hospitality's seafood option unless it's fresh off the trolley.
Oceanus, with lobsters emerging from his forehead, vomits up two dolphins

Was he *being sick on porpoise*?

It's always bloody Vindolanda.
Housesteads and Birdoswald were much more fort, less party zone.

That said, I bet the pipes under Carlisle Cricket Club* have seen some things.

*they keep finding Roman stuff there. Novel excuse for stopping play.

Among the people at my bus stop is a group of a half dozen, each with a rolling suitcase. Each suitcase has keeled over, off its wheels, while we've been stood here, like it's just been Too Long a Day.

I’ve had the words ‘POLLY WANNA KRAKEN’ running round my head for the last week and today I was finally able to exorcise them.

It's good of New Scientist to acknowledge my dissertation, but I only said I was *hoping* for penguins on LHS 1140b.

This this this. You have to keep working on yourself. Teenage me was pretty with it for the time, but she'd need some awareness slapped into her today.
We must constantly push back. You are not good because you were good as a teen. You must keep choosing to grow and evolve as new bigotry emerges and the fight moves on.

Ooooh. Oliver Jeffers has an exhibition on in Belfast. Might have to fit that in before I run out of leave for the year...

Hmmm. There's a box of Yorkshire Tea caramelised biscuit brew in the teapoint, on the shelf where we leave things we're happy to give away. Tried some yesterday. Its flavour is way stronger as a smell than a taste. But all my subsequent cuppas have had almost as much Hint Of Biscuit as that mug did.

It's because so many aren't based on hexagons. Which is totally valid unless you're knitting something small or complex, when doing four or eight points is way, way simpler.
See, for example, my earmuffs vs Gromit's jumper: big one-off design vs small and fiddly and repeated.

Lovely thread.
Gonna share one of my favorite Trans Experiences rn because we could all use nice things this time of year.

When I was in high school I was--shocking no one--a theater kid, and was in every play. One of which was A Midsummer Night's Dream, I was Lysander.

Flash forward 12 years and I got an email.

*Sir Humphrey gives his recalcitrant body its final warning*
This photosynthetic magic trick allows for the big finale: some sacoglossan sea slugs can detach their own heads from their body (which contains the gut!) & live on photosynthesis for a few weeks while the body regrows from the head!

The body, unfortunately, cannot grow a new head.
This Sea Slug Can Chop Off Its Head and Grow an Entire New Body--Twice
It is one of the “most extreme” examples of regeneration ever seen

Adapted pattern for second of the small dog festive hats: deeper rib so the turned up section over their eyes still looks substantial, longer decorative decrease doing both cardinal and secondary "compass points". Not sure what to do now with any further downtime.

Fiction and dramatised storytelling are SO GOOD in podcast form. There's not much better than someone reading to you who's good at it.
I personally think the podcast medium is overstimulated for interviews and underutilised for beautiful atmospheric dramatic storytelling. But that’s probably just me.
