Okay this is ridiculous now. I've received two issues of Nintendo Life magazine, a bi-monthly publication, before receiving ONE issue of Game Informer.

What on earth went wrong with the Outer Worlds 2 issue?

My eight-year-old son wanted a Silksong shirt, because he's the coolest.

So naturally I had to order one too. Look out, world.

Great work the VGHF is doing with the Digital Library. Just an absolute treasure trove for a games preservationist sicko like me.

You can spend countless hours going down different rabbit holes on there.
We've added 100 new CDs to our collection of press CDs from GamePro magazine, with thousands of pieces of game art, screenshots, and more

So, what's the GamePro press CD collection? We put together an explainer

A Profound Waste of Time Issue 5 arrived in my mailbox yesterday, and it's just perfection as I've come to expect from APWOT.

The cover story about Unicorn Overlord and Vanillaware was great and accompanied by some spectacular artwork throughout.

@cazwis.bsky.social congrats on the release!

At the '94 AMOA Show, Data East's Joe Kamenkow stands with the infamous Tattoo Assassins, begun before DE sold its pinball division to Sega. Kaminkow stayed on the team to finish the game before switching over. Although it had a story penned by Back to the Future's Bob Gale, it was never released.

Hey GI Team,

Is something wrong with shipments of the physical magazine? Neither my brother nor I have received the Outer Worlds 2 issue, which at this point is well over a month late.

Been kind of a bummer since I haven't received an issue in almost two months now.

Just want the devs over there to know that I see and respect their approach to animation in their games.

It's doing things the hard way when it comes to hand-drawn animation in games, but the results are worth it IMO.
It makes me so happy to see more hand-drawn games forgoing skeletal animation in favor of fully key-framed animation
I've always loved hand-drawn art and animation in games, especially given its relative rarity compared to the comparative prevalence of pixel and polygonal art and rendering approaches. One thing I re...

More fun findings from the Video Game History Foundation's Digital Library.

This GamePro (Issue 54) coverage for MK2 in the months leading up to its release was absolutely captivating to me as a kid. Reading that Reptile would be PLAYABLE and had his own fatalities blew my young mind.

Found a hidden gem among the EGM2 uploads in the VGHF Digital Library tonight!

A behind-the-scenes two-page article about the making of Tattoo Assassins, featuring pictures of character concept art that I've never seen anywhere else.

This is so cool!

The Video Game History Foundation Digital Library's archive/scan of EGM2 Issue 10 (April 1995), which includes the most in-depth coverage of the cancelled game Tattoo Assassins of any gaming publication.

Glad to see this preserved.

FYI - The last round of sound fixes for Tattoo Assassins are part of MAME .280. No ROM update necessary since these were changes made to the emulator itself.

I decided to record an arcade playthrough of how the game runs and sounds in MAME now. No more weird squealing noises. 👍

Apparently the first-ever online Tattoo Assassins tournament (post-sound fixes) was run at Sawcon Zero recently. I wish I'd known about this beforehand because I totally would've entered it!

Some nice mid-to-high level play in this, and I completely agree with them banning infinites for this.

Finally got my hands on the return issue after returning from vacation, and it's everything I hoped it'd be. Loving the improved paper/cover stock in particular, and I want to give a shout-out to this article about Captain Blood. Pirate action games are all too rare, sadly.

Had to give your game a shout-out after picking it up on the eShop sale a few days ago. I've been utterly addicted to it lately, and it's pretty much my first deckbuilder.

Can't wait for the sequel to eventually hit Switch 1/2!

Okay, this game has its hooks in me big time now. Just stumbled upon it on the eShop sale the other day, and I'm addicted. It's a simplified Slay the Spire with a fun pirate coat of paint, and it offers some surprising depth under the surface once you dig in.

Music is great too.

@neon-bitchi.bsky.social just dropped her latest video, and it's about Tattoo Assassins!

Her video focuses mostly on how the game's sound was fixed in emulation recently by the community and the events that led to that.

It's a feel-good preservation story about the best MK Klone around!
