This makes me so happy. I can't even tell you. The magazine racks at my local B&N have been basically bereft of gaming mags for a year or two now.

It will also be surreal to see Game Informer on regular newsstands again as opposed to just being sold through GameStop.

I just happened to have a Survival Arts cab at a small local movie theater. I'd have my dad sometimes drive me over there just to play it in the lobby without going to see a movie.

The game has always held a special place for me, and it's easily one of my favorite MK Klones to this day.

This issue has been insanely overdue in terms of mail delivery, hasn't it? They've already released the digital version of the issue after this one, and I STILL haven't received this Outer Worlds one in the mail. I think it's almost a full month or more late now.

I adore Moon (and all the other Onion Games works), but this ended up being a disappointment for me. I dropped it about halfway through because the core design was just aggressively unfun too much of the time for me to keep going. I felt it was a rare miss for Onion Games, sadly.

Yeah, you're right. My jealousy still stands, however. And I've kept my entire EGM collection all these years later while he's long since disposed of his, including that special Amano cover issue. 😔

My friend and I both subbed to EGM back then, and he got the special cover on the left while I received the standard on the right. Jealousy was felt.

Original Alien Hominid is still my favorite. Playing that kind of game on PS2 felt like a rare treat at a time when purely 2D games were a rarity on consoles. And the Hominid's design is so nice. That yellow really pops.

It definitely does add to the feeling of repetition that can make the difference between a roguelite you can't put down and one that you eventually bounce off of. And the Hades games both feel more repetitive than the best in the genre for this reason, I'd argue.
