If you're new to me and/or Bluesky, I'm an old white guy who writes and talks thoughtfully about AI, cybercrime, human health, and the need to dismantle male supremacy, all in one year. But my first post of the day is often a cat or sky or nature pic. #Cats #AI #CyberSecurity #Ethics #BelieveWomen
My 2025 output, from jagged AI to video takes, with sides of cybercrime, infosec, medicine, and anti-misogyny
Stephen Cobb looks back at the output he managed to produce in 2025 which covered a wide range of subjects, including artificial intelligence

I want to remind folks of something that’s still raw for me. After the 2024 loss, most Dems in Congress went quiet. You remember the silence. It was deafening.

Jasmine Crockett did the opposite. She stepped up early, got loud, and was never afraid to take on Trump.

The Mayor is out here quoting Scripture in a way that is truly reflective of it, unlike how Christian Nationalists quote it as a cudgel to harm and oppress those they dislike. You love to see it.

there’s a reason philosophy and religion have an extremely long history of treating ambition as a necessary evil - at best.
genuinely not trying to throw shade here, I think most of us have gotten stuck in this kind of loop at some point for something (even if just a stupid video game) but I honestly think the single most mentally healthy thing that’s happened to me in the last decade is losing all my ambition
Token Anxiety

i think i mostly echo this for myself. with so much that can be done, i often feel like i *should* be doing something, always

Wow! @citigroup.com response to fraudulent card applications sucks. On Feb 10 Experian warned me Citibank and Chase had done hard checks on my credit. I called both banks and told them I hadn't requested cards from them. Chase handled it within minutes. Citibank took 5 days and 3 long calls from me.

@inequalitynews.bsky.social‬ THANK YOU! My partner and I have said this for many years. She grew up under Reagan and I under Thatcher. Knew they were deeply wrong then. Felt the harm inflicted by their actions and ideology every decade since.
🚨 Also interesting to consider the US Gini co-efficient 🔽 which shows that their economy and society was wrecked during the Reagan years in parallel with Thatcher's destruction of the UK. The US now has very high and entrenched inequality which, ultimately, has delivered the Trump disaster...

The surge in inequality in the 1980s ripped the UK apart. No govt since has reversed it (or even tried). It is entrenched.

NZTPU says social problems can be solved "organically and naturally" by communities, families, and markets, and that govt should stay out of it; NZTPU seems to have forgotten that government was created by communities, families, and markets to resolve problems on their behalf.

NZTPU = 🤡🤡🤡🤡
NZ has normalised inequality. As the cost of living rises, Govt has to expand into every corner of life so people don't starve and end up homeless.
We need to reduce inequality and rampant rentierism so that people and communities have the resources they need to look after themselves.

Between this and the story about the ice agents who ate at a Mexican restaurant and then arrested some of its workers when they were done, it's a reminder that these people reject even the most basic social agreements of hospitality and of helping others. They're sociopaths.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.
