Pinned
I'm just posting this so I can pin it and look at it every day. Because I need something to give me joy.
Really disappointed in my lemon foraging on the walk. Orange trees are exploding, but the lemons are late this year.

😍
Pristine view of a freshly minted snowpack from the High Sierra / Half Dome @YoseConservancy camera on the final weekend of 2025. Despite the high snow levels early in the week, solid finish as seen in the 7 day snow depth change numbers (1/2) #CAwx #Yosemite 12/27/2025

4 miles up hill. Under 80 minutes. Whew! Amazing view from up here. Looks like they are having services, so I won’t m go up to the roof garden this year. It’s not my faith, but I’ll respect their space.

The city’s maples all got their crazy pruning. Not sure how often they do this. Doesn’t feel like every year. But it leaves them so ugly!

Ok, I watched the horny gay hockey boys show. I have mixed feelings. But good on them all for doing it and doing it well

Well, I was hoping to sleep tonight. The weather has other ideas for me.

I knew a lady who grew up in northern Italy and dated a boy one teenaged summer who went on to be a Swiss guard (he was Swiss, as is still rule). She ended up married to an officer of the RCMP. She had good taste in guys who wear fun outfits.

I mean, I’m sure it’s really wrong and blasphemous to be turn on by for Swiss guard, but here I am.
December 25, 2025 at 7:05 AM
But really, I’m just here for the Swiss guard.

I miss the midnight mass from the Vatican broadcasts that had English commentary. Now I just watch in YouTube in Italian and try to remember what it all means.

My tree is my grandparents’ tree. They were the first people I knew with a “fake” tree. Now it’s mine. It’s almost as old as me and has seen better days. Every year I say I’ll get a new one. Every year I don’t. Something about seeing my vovô’s handwriting on the instructions is just so special

I made grown up dinner for my mom and Nephew #3 at my own place.

Practicing my butter making skills before class in January. I still got it. But oof, my forearms are already sore. Gonna need a killer upbeat 10 minute butter-making play list to play for them.

Thunderstorms on Christmas. Wacky!
In what is likely to be the first of three nights and days with thunderstorms…it’s looking active offshore as of 9pm Tuesday. 12/23/2025 #CAwx

I got home before the rain hit AND to @odinmercer.bsky.social Christmas cookies at my door. So that’s great!

How do pomelos stay on their skinny little stems without just breaking off?

I recently learned that ginkgos are weird trees and drop all of their leaves within a day or even hours. Comparing this tree now to our walk yesterday, I’d say that’s true.

Penny would like you all to know that she bravely protected Temporary Food Lady™ from a squirrel in a tree in the neighbors yard.

And it kills me more each time I realize I don’t really want to return to my own home. I love my place and space, but the cacophony of street noise is getting to me.
December 23, 2025 at 7:16 PM
The dogs are thunderdoming inside while I sip tea and read a book outside. I hear them wrestling, birds, someone raking leaves, and the neighbors pool. I really could get used to suburban life.
December 23, 2025 at 7:14 PM
I’m covered in a lot of dog.
December 23, 2025 at 4:07 AM
Home with the dogs. I’m not pushing my luck any further today and we’re tucking in for the day.

But the meat was half off and the computer is half paid by credit card points (the other half, dog sitting). My hustle game remains strong.
December 22, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Side note: I’m now broke. Planned and expectedly, but yeah, ouch.
December 22, 2025 at 8:48 PM
But I also just bought a new computer and prime rib, so maybe I paid into good karma for that part space out front of a busy place with an hour of paid parking left in it.
