Pinned
I'm just posting this so I can pin it and look at it every day. Because I need something to give me joy.
Rory is becoming Emily, and that sucks.

I’m at the point of watching Gilmore Girls where I see what people were talking about. I might have to switch to a rewatch of The Wire to watch people make better life decisions

I’ve been offline most of the day, so please don’t fill me in on anything Bubba related.

Are Pokémon meet ups still a thing. I just got home and decided to go for a walk and ran into a huge group of people at the park and then at another point, all staring at their phones.

36 days until we need to be ready for the library move. Next step, tip 20k books that will need to be packed separately.

That is a lot of water from coming out of the sky. And not a small amount of it is in the library.

This was me about 15 times today.

I’m usually really mad about the class before me not erasing the boards, but I’ll let these pass.

In looking for and collecting rocks, I look specifically at each thinking “could this be a pigeon?”
November 12, 2025 at 5:19 AM
For our various craft events, my colleague has been painting rocks to look like pigeons (rock doves). She left today’s in the new (not yet filled) bird bath in the veteran’s garden and it made me unreasonably happy.

Absolutely bonkers day. Was oddly warm despite overcast so even managed to squeeze in a (last?) swim. Forgot my Apple watch so had to count my laps like a pleb. Now, finally home, I want to pass out

I am Toad. Toad is me.
Then Toad felt very tired, and he fell asleep.

Her story came as I limped my pride back from a class where no one listened to me. I don't really care about the disrespect it showed me, but it breaks my empathetic heart that they'll leave college with massive debt only to find jobs won't hire them because they bring nothing.

More fuel from my weekend thoughts on losing the plot on expecting everything to be frictionless: my officemates daughter is a senior in high school and it's senior ditch day. Daughter asked mom to "call her out" so she would have an absence.

"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

In class, we are working on argument, and today we went over the Declaration of Independence as a great example of formal logic. Major premise, minor premise leading to a conclusion. Reading the list of grievances that make up the proof of the minor premise was even more disturbing than I expected

Seriously, who the f- fights over a 40-minute webinar requirement on bystander intervention? I had to take it in my staff role and it was actually really good and would be beneficial for faculty to take. That these white dudes don't want to be forced to says everything I need to know about them

I grew up in a union family, and I respect organized labor. I'm a part of a union as part of my adjunct faculty role. And I just got an email from my union reps that was so offensive to the core of my being, I want to set the whole thing on fire. I can barely string words together I'm so angry.

That was a grossly unpleasant 3 miles. Pitted out a tshirt in November. Had a random dog approach me and bark. Didn’t even see any deer. What a waste of a fall evening.

Ok this sucks. I’ve had cooler walks in the summer.
November 10, 2025 at 2:19 AM
Approaching the major road I pass to get to my quiet walk, I’m behind a couple walking arm and arm. I get closer to pass them and I can see the rhinestones on the Barbie pink jacket one is wearing spell out “Asian dyke.” My neighborhood is rad.

Walked outside to go for an evening walk. It’s dark and November 9 and it’s oddly warm. My app says 70, and I’d say that’s close. Unfortunately

At this point, I told him an earthquake stopping this game might be a blessing.
November 9, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Asking for Nephew #1 who is wondering if the 49ers would automatically lose this game if the earthquake swarm gets bigger. 🤣

Real question for football people? Is there an equivalent time in football when a game is considered complete if it has to end early for an emergency or something? Like, it won’t be replayed. The leader will be the winner?
