I've made no secret that I think the current interpretation of the second amendment is far too expansive, but under the law Pretti was entirely within his rights to have a concealed handgun. Indeed, those are rights that Republicans have been pushing beyond all reason and common sense.

I think the thing that killed the administration was that they were so gung-ho to find a reason that Pretti deserved to die that they accidentally declared that that the second amendment isn't real.

Been thinking non-stop about this for the past few weeks, it suggests replacing conventional torpedo tubes from surface combatants with what I can only describe as "a VLS turned on its side, ejecting torpedoes over the side with automotive airbag inflators"
