ICE enforcement is a mass disabling event.

They’re using extreme force on protesters. They’re terrorizing cities. They’re deploying chemical munitions in neighbourhoods.

The conditions within the camps are atrocious and promote the spread of disease.

No social justice without disability justice:
ICE Enforcement May Be A Mass Disabling Event
ICE have proven again and again that they will target the most vulnerable. Their aggressive actions may even become a mass disabling event. Why aren't more people talking about it?

That they’re coming after the judges reflects their belief that they now completely own the public square. This is late-stage McCarthyism.
This is how the Oz are reporting the (main??) criticism of Bell: she once made a decision with others on the HIGH COURT about environmental protest law bans (I remember covering those, draconian) that was later CITED by a different court to allow anti genocide protests to go ahead. My god.

Vance says the idea that people might make the ICE shooter’s life miserable is preposterous

He murdered a woman. She no longer has a life to make miserable. That’s preposterous.

He claims ICE has “absolute immunity” which should terrify everyone.

Arrest & prosecute that agent.
JD Vance: "The idea that Tim Walz and a bunch of radical are gonna go after and make this guy's life miserable because he was doing the job he was asked to do is preposterous. The unprecedented thing is the idea that a local official can prosecute a federal official with absolute immunity."

ABC24 has rolled Scott Prasser out to comment on the RC; he has just intoned that Virginia Bell's inquiry into Morrison's secret cabinet ministries found that "he did nothing wrong, by the way", which is .... uh .... not what her inquiry found. It's going to be a long 2026

She was a wife, mother & a fellow writer

She was shot point blank in the head as she was attempting to drive away from armed masked thugs

Say her name. Share her photo. Do not let ICE & DHS control the narrative

After ICE shot an American citizen in the face in Minneapolis, they dragged her lifeless body out of the car.

An onlooker tried to help and identified himself as a doctor.

They pulled their guns on him.

They wouldn’t let him help.

They delayed medical care.

Cold blooded murder.

Much of the books attractiveness seems to come from articulating a vision of what the world could and possibly should be. This is frequently missing from politics - the problem is that the sci-fi future it is fascinated with the promise of technologies like AI, nuclear and vertical farming.

Now. The issue here is that is false. The second chart Ketan shares here demonstrates:
Noah Smith is usually extremely sloppy around data and evidence, but this is worse than usual

Wind's direct land impact is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than solar

Added ecomodernist bonus: wind and solar got cheap by magic, not years of gov't subsidies and deployment in the world

In between argument for nuclear power and talking about the promise of nuclear fusion, the authors write: "installing that much nuclear and solar capacity isn't just a manufacturing challenge; it's a political one. Wind and solar require far more land than coal or natural gas to produce the same..."

Quoting two professors of environmental laws at UCLA, the authors write that the US needs to bring online two 400MW of solar facilities a week for the next 30 years. The authors quote these academics as saying each of these would take up 2000 acres. This is taken at face value.
