Tangential thought

Wagen is 15 & used to be a voracious reader & now he primarily only reads Manga cuz he's full up on racism books & he doesn't want romance in books

And I'm trying to think of what's in that space that isn't too kiddie but not too adult & isn't racism or romance ladden

Please stop bringing your dogs everywhere. Especially when you have them on a long leash and you literally aren’t paying attention to the dog.

So i was perusing Libby who had a section on classics & I'm looking at audiobook times & 🤯

How is the Hobbit only 3 hrs when it took me 717 years to read it?!

Also i don't remember Moby Dick being that long but OK then

Why are so many of them over 24 hours?!

I’ve spent this morning morbidly watching the MTV channels close down and the final songs played were:
MTV Music - Video Killed the Radio Star (Buggles)
Club MTV - Don’t Stop the Music (Rihanna)
MTV 90s - Goodbye (Spice Girls)
MTV 80s - Together in Electric Dreams (Oakey and Moroder)

They’re gonna try to kill us again next year.

Fuck ‘em again next year.
We made it through this year.
It did not kill us.

Chicago, if ABC don't bring back wasted local news people with cringey local on-site party check-ins from Hammond, Indiana and Aurora next year, we riot.

BTW this post was abt the YA thriller Julie Chan is Dead & I think abt this bk at least once a week

It gets unhinged towards the end - like full blown banana pants- but it's doing a lot of smart things
New book experience unlocked - i LITERALLY almost hurled due to a book description.

Not a horror but that description was truly horrific & I'm still fighting the urge 5 mins later

Here's a really easy New Year's Resolution:
If you're sick with something contagious, you will stay home if your circumstances allow.

If you can't stay home, you will mask around others until there is no possibility you are contagious.

By making these choices, you will literally save lives.

Today's reason I'm mad at publishing:

You're sending me promo to get me hyped abt a book i can't get for another 3 -12 months

But you won't pay the author until 17 years after it releases?!

I literally watched the 1st epi of Scandal when it premiered & was so on edge I couldn't sleep until 2am. I never went back.

But HTGAWM had me in a choke hold (until it didn't)
Yall were really watching Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, AND Grey's Anatomy on the same night??? Cortisol through the roof!

HS choir director had entire ensemble ringed around rm Soprano,Alto, Tenor, Bass & was walking around evaluating 1x1.

He's not happy & he stops us & tells the 50+ group "You should be more like Sasha. Sure she's not always singing the right note but I can always hear her."

30 yrs later & still 😬
Forget insults, what’s the most unhinged *compliment* you’ve ever received?

As if artists don't have enough to deal with, Amazon has a "Buy For Me" program in beta which is scraping indie shops for their items and putting them up on Amazon (often incorrectly), for their "AI agent" to buy from the other site. It is NOT opt in, and there is no opt out.
I just found out that our stuff is being sold on Amazon - WITHOUT our consent or any ability to opt out bc Amazon is just scraping artist’s websites and putting our shit in their search results. Again, without our permission.
