i've been working so hard on this for so long i'm so happy to be able to share this wider.

it's by no means "done" but i really, really strongly felt it was important to create a free, public website that anyone can access.

i went to college, i started a career in web dev, all to see this through.

one fun side effect of kids only ever having digital downloads is that you buy them a £60 game with a disc and they hold it like a biscuit

Don't fall for it, parent company basically wants to use this platform as a fresh content mill to train AI models, which is why it's explicitly "Anti-AI"

steam machine game console looks so good.

nothing to do with the specs, i couldn’t give less of a shit, but being able to pop it in a backpack? it’s so small and portable!

*and* it’s just a prebuilt PC?

just afraid of how expensive it’ll be.

right but that’s what i mean. human nature is inherently good in general *because* we look after animals.

wait HOW LONG AGO?!
🗓️ On This Day: 11 November

In 2014, a new cross-media initiative was born. The 'Sonic Boom' sub-franchise began in earnest, with 3D adventure "Rise of Lyric" on Wii U and "Shattered Crystal" on 3DS launching in North America.

...At least we had the cartoon!

i wonder if i typed in eliksni enough if it would start showing up in other autocorrects.

yaviirskisk.
Has anyone else noticed that their phone's keyboards are getting... stupider?

My phone actually AVOIDS capitalizing "i" and sometimes I'll need to edit an entire paragraph after the fact because I'll manually type in a difficult word and it'll change it.

My going theory is that this is modern AI.

i'm building a swadesh list for eliksni and dread.

i think that's another thing singular exegete is trying to be.

to accomplish it, i thought it would be smart to start grabbing swadesh lists of other languages. i'm up to 44,000+ words and not even finished.

helpful! but oh my god this is a task.

A friend recently texted me the same thing. “Do you really not use ChatGPT?!” It was a sign of where we are culturally on this. People are compelled to use it but also starting to question the normalcy?
Recently met someone who was very surprised to hear I didn’t use ChatGPT or any LLM.

I said my job depended on doing distinctive work. That was my selling point. If I started to sound like ChatGPT and turn out what it did, then how on earth could I justify doing it? What would that make me?

haven’t seen it since i, my dad, and my late grandad did the 3 extensions marathon in 06.

now of course, my language-rot brain started clocking in to work, so i’ve decided to look into sindarin etc.

feels ordained.

Norway finds out that its electric busses - produced by a Chinese firm - can be remotely controlled from China!

The good news of this is that the Norwegians realised this because they did a cybersecurity test. We need to think about, and test, stuff like this more.
