Hey did you know I have an Etsy shop? It's got a handful of cross stitch patterns if that's your jam: www.etsy.com/shop/ineffab...
I also have a tip jar at ko-fi.com/sarah_serinde. Occasionally I post Desert Bus craft pics there before they go up elsewhere (or ones that don't go up anywhere else)

for me it was the fact that the author is one of the main driving forces behind the global movement to kill my trans friends and erase their existence

hope that helps

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”

Wife's novel came out this week, and it's so cool to just see it sitting on a bookstore shelf! I'm so proud of her 🥰

My friend's book is out today!
Hey does cozy queer romantasy sound good to anyone here? Because my friend's novel "How to Lose a Goblin in Ten Days" comes out on Tuesday and it's a delight. Please go check it out (and give a local bookstore some love if you can)!

It's wild going from a job with intentionally impossible targets and constant negative comments to one where I'm repeatedly told I do very good work and people actually phrase feedback constructively.

I've still got concerns about new job's workload but at least they ramp up it up gradually.

Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.

OMG 😭

Huntington's is an inherited disease that's like Alzheimers + Parkinson's all in one. NOW: "once the gene therapy has been delivered into the brain... [it] injects a piece of DNA to reprogram the neuron to become a factory for its own cure."

LIFE SAVING!

THIS. Did you know sickle cell is curable, now? FULLY curable.

If you're feeling down or despairing about what FEELS like technology/advancement/science "standing still" or being fully malicious, I have great news: You're not paying attention to actual science. Just tech industry marketing.
meanwhile.... medicine has taken INSANE leaps and bounds in the last 2 years.
we're out here curing HIV and leukemia and creating 100% efficacy vaccines against all sorts of cancers, and now this??

between this and renewable energy outstripping fossil fuels in efficiency, the future is bright
Wanna see real-life miracles? Fund scientific research.

A team of US scientists just cured Alzheimer’s in mice — and there is now hope that the disease can be reversed in humans.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Working from home makes for an anticlimactic last day. I'm waiting on a couple people to message me and then I guess I'm just turning off my laptop as usual and putting it away and then boom, not working at this company anymore.

Guess I'll just have to throw *myself* a party. :P
