Why aren’t more people saying this? It’s murder.
Rep. Jim Himes: "Having the Defense Department kill alleged drug runners in the Caribbean is illegal...These folks are committing murder — murder defined as killing without a legal basis. I am mystified over why the rest of the chain of command is quite comfortable with it."

NOW: The judiciary committee is set to vote on whether to send Emil Bove's nomination to the full Senate.

Bove pressured me to sign a motion to dismiss NYC Mayor Adams' bribery case. I chose to resign.

I urge them to show the courage and character that Bova lacks. Vote NO.

100% — forcing translation before the fundamentals are worked out is putting the cart ahead of the horse and throwing money down the drain.
Maybe one reason the Drosophila and C. elegans communities are so good is they are focused on more fundamental than disease-focused questions. Speaking as a disease oriented developmental biologist, for the record.

Silicon Valley VCs sit atop a system where federal and state governments spent more on basic research of all kinds than most other countries in the world combined, and then take the ideas that come out of that and take it the last mile. An important function, but they disproportionately benefit.
