I am confined to home and rest for two weeks after back surgery.

Anybody got movie recommendations for me?
We subscribe to Netflix, Prime, and Apple TV.

I'm not a fan of horror nor stupid comedies.

I love Starbucks Chai, so this is a hardship for me, but anything to get their workers better pay and benefits.
Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

A leader would compliment the protestors for their dedication and peaceful display of their constitutional rights to assemble and speak.
A mature person would invite representatives of the protest movement to the White House to discuss their grievances.

DJT resorts to 2-year-old potty humor.

This is an incredibly important development because it gives the world a chance to learn the truth about Trump's strikes on boats in the Carribean.

NEW: The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did.

We found more than 170 such incidents since the start of the second Trump administration. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes nearly 20 children, two of whom have cancer.

I love the way the witness shouts, "Don't worry, baby-girl, we got you."
Here's a disturbing video of ICE agents crashing an SUV into a car, starting to drive away, then coming back and violently arresting the female driver. We haven't seen any news coverage of this case, but @gofundme.com told us, "This fundraiser is verified."

Being told ICE is being extra aggressive with protesters this morning in Chicago. Haven’t seen any video yet, but there have been some pretty dramatic escalations. If you’re out there protesting or protecting a school, be smart. Keep your head on a swivel.

Spread the word, please.

I find it interesting that several administration figures are suddenly talking about #NOKings, trying to claim that it will be all paid protesters.

It is a sign that they are worried about protest turnout. Well, they should worry!

Especially, send Southern troops into Northern Cities. The provocation couldn't be higher.
If I were starting a civil war, I would send National Guard troops from one state to another.

Folks are looking for press covering ICE in Adelanto, CA. San Bernardino County.
I have approximately zero following on this app, sharing in the hopes it can get in front of the right person. A man I went to college with’s wife was kidnapped by ICE at a green card hearing, and he’s trying to find a reporter who will speak to him about the situation

I've read all of those too. But I've also watched Casablanca, Star Wars: A New Hope, and Andor. I know that reluctant, self-absorbed people can be converted into stalwart members of the Resistance.
I read 1984.
And Fahrenheit 451.
And A Brave New World. And The Handmaid‘s Tale.
And The Giver.
And The Road.
And The Lottery.
And The Parable of the Sower.
And The Hunger Games.

I know what I’m seeing.

I wonder if the media intern who created this meme understands that Bill Kilgore (Robert DuVall) in Apocalypse Now is a bellicose maniac, whose assault on innocents--so one of his soldiers can surf--is supposed to be horrific.
My response to Trump as a proud resident of the city of Chicago: Go fuck yourself. Stay the hell out of our city, you fascist.

All this is true. But the electorate as a whole must take more responsibility for seeking out balanced news coverage and being informed.
The familiar excuse, "I didn't vote for this," is only half right.
Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Supporting unions and fighting for higher wages.

If Dems want to win back working people, this is the agenda they must support.

Every time Lankford is in front of the press he should be asked about his interview with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, where he scoffed at the prospect that harsh immigration policies would be leveled at the little old grandmother down the road.
WELKER: Do you have 100% confidence in Secretary Kennedy?

LANKFORD: I believe he's who the president picked. He's challenging some of the assumption - what is it about autism? He seems to be following the science

WELKER: The science has debunked links between autism & vaccines for more than 20 yrs
