Mask up friends. Washing your hands is such a good idea, but it won’t prevent airborne viruses like COVID, influenza, or measles from entering your body when you breathe. 😷
An airborne virus is a virus that can infect other people through unseen particles in the air, sometimes for hours after the sick person has left the area! Masks and clean, ventilated air can reduce the risk of getting sick from airborne viruses or infecting others.

Unbearably beautiful, indeed. Thank you Karen.
its the dissolving fog, the pre-dawn crows vs seagulls debate (who is the worst, crows or seagulls?), & that I ran into six people in 15 mins before 6am & had real talks

its Sesame Street to me in such moments, i see it all as a work in progress and us within it too

unbearably beautiful

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Residential school deniers will be speaking outside the Indigenous Residential School History and Dialogue Centre at UBC tomorrow.

As Angela says about this cruel event: “This is not academic disagreement. It is an act of denial that causes real harm to Survivors, their families, and communities.”

Respectfully Jon Stewart, you were wrong on the @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social to mock people who mask. ICYMI: there are tens of millions of Americans who have been disabled by #LongCOVID and must do everything in their power to prevent further infections that make them vulnerable to further

It was reprehensible when people mocked condom usage at the height of the AIDS pandemic.

It is just as depraved to mock those wearing masks to reduce the spread of airborne viruses today.

Whenever someone takes any kind of step to protect public health, they should be applauded, not mocked.

“Severe weather conditions are bringing further misery to displaced Palestinians in Gaza, who have already suffered relentless bombardment, siege and loss in Israel’s genocidal war for more than two years, as Israel continues to block critical shelter and aid supplies into the territory.”

I lost my Dad to AIDS.
If we had learned lessons from that pandemic about how to keep structurally marginalized folks safe & alive, could we have prevented the massive & ongoing scale of death & long term disability caused by COVID-19?
