Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵

First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.

My partner got weirded out by how much my new calathea plant wiggles during the day, so of course I had to capture an 11 hour timelapse of it wiggling.

With Spring well under way in the northern hemisphere, here’s a beautiful garden scene to cheer the spirits: birds happily chirping, verdant foliage, clear blue skies.

Found this yesterday in Any Amount of Books on Charing Cross Road. Considering I’ve recently started illustrating some heraldic animals, it feels serendipitous. A very interesting book.

OTD 1905: death of architect Cuthbert Brodrick.
Born & educated in Hull, he turned down a partnership with Henry Lockwood, with whom he'd trained.
Instead, he opened his own practice.
His 3 main Leeds buildings are his most noted works.
He was not successful in architectural competitions elsewhere.

Leeds Corn Exchange, designed by Brodrick in the early 1860s.
It’s built in millstone grit – the same stone used to grind corn.

It replaced a 1828 exchange that stood at the top of Briggate. The old building was demolished in 1869.

Recently saw this recreation of the she-wolf mosaic in Denver - this time sans Romulus and Remus. Perhaps this is a before / after?
