Never forget, for many years #Uber insisted loudly that it would reduce traffic in cities. Instead, Uber drivers cruise without passengers 40% of the time. Uber and Lyft no longer claim they reduce traffic. They now admit they increase congestion.

So much for “making cities better…”

Quick poll. Are you someone who rinses the dishes and puts them straight into the dishwasher.
Or are you a psychopath who rinses them and leaves them piled in the sink. In the damned sink!*

Thanks to a bunch of morons, falling for the lies of an orange buffoon, we, the rest of the planet, are so fucked. The US is the second largest polluter on the planet.

Twitter is full of awful content, videos of people fighting, or dying, and so many crackpots. The descent into the abyss happened fast. If this is Electric Jesus’ vision of his brave new world, he can keep it.

To the tech nerds and cyclists - does anyone have a recommendation of a good camera for a bike, upper end would be a GoPro, but I’ve also seen someone using a Zero-X ZX30? I’m riding in Wellington, so want clarity to document my likely demise :)

This was a heartbreaking story to work on: New data from reveals the crushing burden of Long Covid in NZ.

Reading testimonies is like reading obituaries. LC patients describe their lives in the past tense, because the lives they used to have are now gone.

I usually shop at night, just before closing. Did the shop at P&S at lunchtime. Everyone around me looked the same, checking prices, stressed. Lady in front of me held back some items. The quiet conversations in the queue were all about what could be afforded. $80 secret Santa, my ass.

I’ve been unsubscribing from mailing lists. So far I’ve unsub’d from Three Wise Men four times; but that hasn’t halted their emails. They’re far from an orphan, many other businesses are proving difficult to shake. Do better.

The Detail: Covid: Still here, still deadly
It's the unwelcome guest that no one wants to talk about – Covid-19 may be below the radar now, but it hasn't gone away and is likely to claim 1,000 Kiwi lives this year.

#NZPol The hardest working person this election was Craig Renney. Without him we would not know how little the foreign buyers would bring in to cover Nats tax cut cost and that the much lauded $250 tax cut would only go to 3000 families

Greed. Corruption. Big money investors - now you see why the landlords have “donated” so much to National. Their return is unconscionable.

Tomorrow morning my story will move in front of the Newsroom paywall. There's an accompanying video and on Monday The Detail will run an episode on the issue.

I hope you take a look!

Was talking to a die hard Nat today who surprised me by saying he hates Seymour AND Luxon, so he’s party voting NZF. His reasoning was that he can’t make Luxon’s numbers work, and he thinks Seymour is unhinged and dangerous. This is a guy who bleeds blue; shocking.
