You know, the easiest way to tell if someone's one of the 'good' fallout fans (they do exist) is asking them what they think of the Railroad.
If the person gives you a real answer, they're okay.

I'm going to go a step further: Every time I see a mechanicus model from 40K my brain instantly goes back to the 'Lost in Space' movie from the 90's. It's like...oh look, more scientists that are returning to millipede.
I'm going to level with all the 40K nerds going crazy over this new mechanicus lady: I honestly thought it was a new sculpt of Caul.
