Co-host of “The Show” on KJZZ 91.5 FM, Phoenix’s NPR member station. I mostly post earnest emotional reactions to Orioles games, but you can find my radio work here: https://www.kjzz.org/people/sam-dingman
Did not expect this Matt Hobgood reference to cut so deep. Now I’m thinking about Rocky Coppinger and my heart hurts
New Meoli column name drops Matt Hobgood and now I need a pint of whiskey and a pack of cigarettes and everybody to leave me alone while I stare out the window for 3 hours

In a surreal twist of fate, I got to interview my hero, Todd Snider, just a couple weeks before he died. In retrospect, he seemed like he knew he was approaching the end of the road. www.kjzz.org/the-show/202...
‘Hallelujah, I'm a bum’: Troubadour Todd Snider on the drifting way of life
After a bad show in Phoenix, Todd Snider wrote “Can’t Complain” and began opening almost all his shows with it. The song holds a special place for The Show’s Sam Dingman.

So the Orioles are getting “calls and texts” about Adley. Are they…picking up those calls, or letting them go to voicemail? I need to know on account of being deeply emotionally invested in the Adley Comeback Narrative.

“Only music is forever,” and many other pearls of wisdom were dispensed by the great Neko Case in this awesome conversation www.kjzz.org/the-show/202...
Former Tucsonan Neko Case has had a big year — releasing an album and a memoir
Neko Case, a former Tucsonan and Grammy nominee, is beloved for her eclectic songwriting style, which fans sometimes refer to as “country noir.”

Surreal moment whilst reading @washingtonpost.com coverage of culture shifts at CBS since Bari Weiss took over: an uncensored ad for a profane trucker hat.

Hi clinical psychologist here

Don't use or let your kids use a chatbot to address to address mental health needs, just talk to a human that is a professional

"but what about.."

No. Talk to a professional.

"but what if it's just for something minor..."

No. Talk to a professional.

“Dude you got World Series tickets?!”

“Sure did - right behind home plate.”

“Nice - you’re gonna be on TV!”

“Sure am - and I’ve got just the right jersey for the occasion.”

Liam Hendriks has been nominated for 7 Clemente awards. Here are OFFICIAL MLB press releases from 2022, 2023, 2024, and finally 2025. Any mention of Hendriks’ allyship with the LGBTQ+ community has been erased this year and replaced with military mentions. Pretty clear messaging from MLB here!

Since the CEO of that all-AI podcast company called AI skeptics “lazy luddites,” figured I’d share the “art” from some of the company’s “shows,” which looks like it was slapped together in about 2 minutes, and, in at least one case, not spell-checked.

1. Don’t take AI therapy advice from a paper owned by a tech tycoon
2. Delete the AI apps from your phone
3. Find a human therapist - you probably know someone who has one they like!
4. Book that first appointment - it’s the hardest part, and it gets so much better so fast, I promise!
5. Pass it on
