Sadly frantic posting on social media of statistically questionable 'facts ' and being wedded to dogma are not popular with the centrist bloc....Corbyn tried this and lost. Elections are won from the centre ground with some pragmatism
If today you're thinking, I want a party that's:

- rising in the polls
- focused on tackling the cost of living
- and genuinely democratic

To be fair these kind of simple solutions...where money is supposed to be moved from.A to B ...rarely work , and are almost certainly never as simple to achieve as proponents suggest. But ICE is clearly out of control....and the money could be better spent elsewhere IMO
Abolish/defund ICE to fund health care might be a good electoral and policy position. But that is currently the stance of only a few elected Dems. The mainstream stance is saying ICE under Trump is bad and offering vague reform ideas while allowing bills to pass that keep ICE operating as is.
AOC is one of the few Dem electeds that has been explaining that cost-of-living issues are a result of kleptocracy.

Even David Shor has found her message of "Trump is stealing your healthcare money to fund ICE so Democrats must abolish ICE to claw back ACA money" is the most popular among voters

As he should..but for me it's too little too late. But maybe there will be something good out of this mess. A more unified EU . UK forging closer ties with the EU. Canada and other allies not relying on the US. Ironically what Trump says he wants..but he may not like the cost the US pays

I can't see him not being selected...which means there are 2 elections to organise...and pay for. Everyone forgets elections cost money. Wouldn't be surprised if both were held alongside the local elections in May....

To give some perspective...he boasts about taking MORE than is prescribed...of a drug which in the UK would be considered contra indicated due to the risks of gastric bleeding in a patient his age.
A dark-colored bruise on President Trump’s left hand was the result of hitting a table and of taking aspirin, he told reporters on Air Force One on Thursday. Read more: nyti.ms/49Wqb3P

Ya think????
EU leaders reckon Donald Trump’s about-turn on Greenland happened because they stuck together. And while they’re not claiming victory just yet, they believe there are clear lessons to be learned
EU thinks its unity stopped Trump in his tracks
A series of transatlantic crises is teaching European leaders to act more quickly and more forcefully to protect shared interests, diplomats said.

Well, I certainly didn't have 'sharing clip of the Tory Shadow Leader of the House' on my to-do-list today.

But here he is absolutely going for Farage!

And managing to use the word 'bullshiterati' while doing it.

It had to be shared!

Bloody hell. That shocked me.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social talking to us about events in the US.

Started reading something out.

Clearly seemed to be talking about what is happening with ICE and people being taken in the US.

Turns out to be an extract from the diary of Anne Frank.

Sobering!

I tried with my son....and it was a disaster...so I gave up. One morning he refused a nappy...so fingers crossed I complied....and he never needed a daytime nappy again. A few weeks later he did the same at bedtime. Guess what? Never had a wet bed EVER. Give them space to learn but do not push them

Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs....who would have thought it! <sarcasm mode off> This is why tarriffs haven't worked..and look how he flip flopped in the early days of the presidency

Trump has threatened tarrifs...but not imposed them. Starmer has spoken to our EU allies..and clearly they have common plan. But to come out and say what those plans are in public would be idiotic. So I am very happy with Starmers speech today.

NEW: Keir Starmer has had a phone call with President Trump.

No10 releasing very little detail, save to say, “The Prime Minister reiterated his position on Greenland.”

“He also said that applying tariffs on allies for pursuing the collective security of NATO allies is wrong.”

There are going to be limits to what you can make other countries do by threatening to tax your own citizen's purchases of their products.

I believe handing over entire territories falls well beyond those limits.

While this whole story makes me cringe....really what she has given him is worthless to HER....we all know the truth about who won the prize. And she still has the money. Stoking a bullies ego is not a bad move if it gives you time to strengthen your position. Lets see how it all plays out
