Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

When you’re riding public transit you realize that what’s good for everybody is also good for you. If the bus runs faster, if the train is cleaner, if the AC works, we all benefit

when you’re driving a car, every other car on the road is your personal enemy
The Times parsed the vote using similar categories and again found that the single most determinative factor economic-like factor in the election was "commute by transit" vs "commute by car." It edged out renters vs. homeowners. There's still outstanding data but I expect these trends will hold.

Farewell sweet Prince
Eric Adams is amazing because when he won every media person was leaping over each to go “this is the normal sane leadership that the political left doesn’t understand normal sane Americans crave” and then every day since that Eric Adams has been like “Leprechauns are real and I’m going to cook one”

this is fuckin inspiring, man. it is so cool to see a superstar talent in a position of union leadership sticking her neck out to make such a measured but incisive statement
Napheesa Collier's full statement at the beginning of her exit interview.

She directly quotes conversations with Cathy Englebert that legitimately call into question how the WNBA is being led. (Part 1/2) #WNBASky

The United States Supreme Court saying that it's perfectly fine for federal agents and the police to make indiscriminate stops and interrogations of people based on their color, race, ethnicity, and the language that they speak is the effective end of civil rights in this country.
