I celebrate political wins, yet caution that they won't last UNLESS they can stem the trends happening in climate.
Zack's many graphic posts point towards bigger storms, heat waves, and floods. Consequences will mount, leading to more deaths from crop failures, spread of tropical pests and diseases.

‘Residential protesting’ could be a crime in Minnesota under new GOP proposal
A bill that’s backed by a coalition of GOP lawmakers set to be proposed at the start of the upcoming session would make “residential protesting" punishable under Minnesota law.

Why is nobody speaking out against the🍊💩s campaign rally at Fort”Bragg”.Telling the cheering(?)troops to vote GOP and having a repug senate candidate up there with him is crossing another line. Our military is not his political tool to wield. They have a duty to Country and Constitution, not Fatass.

The GOP playbook is essentially a poll tax - one that many people (hourly workers and students) need to also take off from work and find transport to an office with limited office hours to get the ID that is demanded.

I had just posted about the El Niño arriving, but did not realize the system now has a bias to report La Niña.
As a boomer, it is easy for me to spend an hour listening to Sandy and Eliot. I encourage all age groups to heed the graphics. Its good to laugh when we can, but it's a serious discussion.

But economics doesn’t fail because it lacks complexity.
It fails because it assumes growth inside a finite system is negotiable.

Just fascinating.

The ENSO forecast matters. BUT, no forecast is assured until summer.
Oceans absorb heat 24/7/365. La Niña patterns act to suck that heat deeper into the oceans, while El Niño patterns release more over land - where we feel it midst warming as a new baseline.

Why did a federal magistrate sign off a search warrant based on an affidavit containing so many easily verifiable lies?
Most importantly, if this can happen once with respect to old ballots, what is preventing a bogus affidavit from serving as the basis for seizing ballots during the 2026 midterms?
The problem for democracy is that it will not survive three more years of such a system. We cannot hold free and fair elections if judges blindly accept the word of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel’s minions. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/two-...
