The problem with timing some of your major life events (e.g. anniversaries) with the solar cycle is that the dates shift around a bit. Partners may not be as sympathetic to an absolute time keeping method and would prefer to stick to calendar dates instead.

Over the years I've noticed several different types of people landing on doom for different reasons. I have a bit of insight into their reasons due to being in the position of being the provider of local projections for adaptation so they often end up exposing their motivated reasoning to me ... 1/x
