This administration wants your daughters' only option to be barefoot, pregnant, and a punching bag.
The misogynistic fucks in the admin are trying to make it so that grad school certifications in female-dominated professions (nursing, therapy, education) no longer count as “professional degrees” & you can’t get loans to go to grad school.
The DoE has reclassified numerous health professional and other degrees, limiting access to federal student loan programs eligible for the higher OBBBA loan caps from thousands to a few hundred.

As ALWAYS, this is about $$.

We're about to become REALLY "great"...

Professions predominately populated by WOMEN,
All of the aging Boomers who voted for Trump are about to find out what happens when he says you don’t need nurses.

bsky.app/profile/kmsc...
We have a current deficit of 500k nurses. There are 260k enrolled in BSN & another 60k registered in associate degrees. Nowhere near enough. Not to mention all the degrees deemed non-professional are in female dominated fields. Limit women access to economic freedom. www.newsweek.com/nursing-not-...

In honor of Larry Summers, I asked the female members of my college class (1987) to say if they had any experiences with sexual harassment by teachers/professors, back when this was tolerated as, I dunno, the cost of attending college, and OH MY GOD.

Apparently Megan speaks out of both sides of her mouth at the same time
“Parents who, after consulting with a doctor and a psychologist, allow their 15-year-old child to transition commit child abuse. The child is too young to consent!”

--Megyn R. Kelly

“Grown men who have sex with your 15-year-old? Big whoop! It’s not like she’s 8. LOL!”

All 218 REPUBLICAN representatives voted to put American families in a place where they either go WITHOUT Health Insurance or PAY SKY HIGH PREMIUMS.

While we all feel betrayed by the Senate vote on ending the shutdown, it does raise one prickly conundrum…

the House will now have to convene to vote on the spending bill, which means they’ll finally have to swear in Grijalva, who is the deciding Epstein discharge petition vote.

Pay attention.

As if FSA's are an answer...
Democrats running away from anything resembling support of government programs is a good reason to vote all of them out.
"A development that appeared to break the logjam: Republicans proposed that healthcare funding be provided directly to households rather than used to pay for a 1-year extension of ACA subsidies. That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.
