just caught up with ice dance. the reality is that when you wait for all the other senior teams to get out of your way of national and world titles instead of getting good, you run the risk of someone else’s better politicked mistakes being awarded over you, just as you were awarded over others.

Ice dance and figure skating have such an awful reputation for damaging and discarding women and as you watch the ISU saunter past every opportunity to repair that reputation eventually you have to wonder if they like it actually. They don't fix it because this is exactly how they want things to be
