Spying on students for arms companies. It's despicable.

UK universities need to ask themselves who they really serve and protect - war profiteers and genocide enablers, or their students fighting for peace?

The Green Party now has 78,000 members.

Thats 10,000+ new members this month alone who want to draw the line.

I know there are so many more people who want to take a stand.

Oxfordshire is a County of Sanctuary and we are rightly proud to support and stand up for refugees, people seeking asylum and anyone in the UK in need of support. Amazing work by @asylumwelcome.bsky.social to put together this letter!
Over 2,000 people - including three Oxfordshire MPs, have called for "Unity and Compassion” in Oxfordshire after Reform announced plans for mass deportations at their conference in Kidlington this week. Oxfordshire residents have signed an open letter, organised by Asylum Welcome.

Please help us support more refugees, like Hira, who built a community in her asylum centre, when we helped fund her an art class.

Rosie is a close friend and the person I know best who is standing for GPEx.
She is ace. Kind, clever, progressive and persuasive with it too.
She's held this position for a few terms and I'd love to see her continue.

This is why Labour's rhetoric around house building makes NO sense while the Right to Buy is in place.

3,800 households are on the wait list for social housing in Oxford. That would change if the council could keep hold of its social housing stock.

Delighted to have seconded two great motions which both passed at the City Council yesterday. @maxmorris.bsky.social's motion on "Making Oxford more walkable" and @katherinesmiles.bsky.social's motion on "City Centre playground." Looking forward to a better Oxford for kids.

Proud of Oxford City Greens last night at Oxford City Council for this motion - which was hugely supported. This is a first step (get it!?) towards a future Oxford which is more equal, healthy, accessible and happy.
Live summary of tonight's Oxford City Council meeting, where I proposed the Green Group's motion on making our city more walkable. Lively debate but I'm pleased to share that it passed with lots of support. Thanks to Oxford Pedestrians Association, Oxford 50+ Network, and other groups for endorsing.
The meeting moves on to councillor motions. The first is ‘Making Oxford a Truly Walkable City’. Max Morris (Green, Donnington): “Making pavements more accessible for disabled people improves quality of life for everyone. By designing a plan for walking we’d identify areas that need more investment.”

Summing up, Cllr Max Morris: “This motion is about the whole city. This is for everybody. When we make our city more accessible for minority groups, we improve it for everybody.”

The motion to make Oxford a more walkable city is passed with a small number of votes against (not recorded, perhaps 3).
