Terrible.
Hard no to this: French publisher Harlequin has told translators that their work will now be done by AI. They can ‘revise’ AI translations at much lower rate. It’s a subsidiary of Harper Collins so treat this as a test for rollout elsewhere
"Bradage de la traduction, plan social invisible : Harlequin passe à l’IA"

Faites tourner, parce qu'il va falloir se battre encore plus. :/

Re tax returns, what I want to know is, where's the 🥕? It's a grim job and- at the end- the 'reward' is probably to be poorer. Please send 🎂 and 🍷 #tax #death #certainties #freelancewriter #freelancelife

A tad stressful teaching my girl to drive. In truth, she's doing brilliantly. We just need to work on her parking. 😂

You absolutely had me hooked with your wry humour here, Mike, before your keen observations.
Once upon a time, I had a chapbook published and genuinely believed that it was only a matter of time before I would become a household name in the world of #poetry. These days I'm barely a household name in my own house.

Delightfully, the gift of Ron's work had just popped up in my timeline. I'm now exploring the earlier days of Advent 🙏

This is fabulous news, Mike! I'm so pleased for you, and for myself, as a reader, to know that this is coming. Many congratulations 🎊
Utterly delighted to be joining Ballerini Book Press, with a new story collection, Blurred Edges, planned for publication in the first half of 2026. Huge thanks to Renée Ballerini for this wonderful opportunity.

How's your Christmas season panning out? Making a Christmas Eve pilgrimage to pick up my son at 9pm from Hammersmith Hospital when he finishes a 12 hour shift. In the meantime, here's my local walk. #supportdoctors #SaveourNHS

How did I miss this? It's beautiful, Rachel, and such a different tone to other pieces I've read of yours. I'm sorry for your loss. ❤️
“Clinical Interruption” by @vignettes.bsky.social centers the #integrity of the body, perfectly maintaining metaphor throughout. A beautiful #Poem from Issue 7

‘consider not giving presents this holiday season’ 💀
British Library staff asked for a decent pay. Instead they got ‘a few money-saving present ideas’, such as ‘consider not giving presents this holiday season’. They are on strike this week. I wrote about it for @lrb.co.uk. www.lrb.co.uk/blog/2025/de...

God and I were walking
in the woods this morning.

He was quiet for a long time,
& I finally asked him
what he was thinking.

He didn’t hesitate.

He said, I was thinking about Eden
& how happy we all were there.
I wish I’d given that young couple
another chance.

I love how this moves from the every day, to its sibilence driven crescendo, Rachel 👌
She hums as she works,
needle flicking bone from thread.
They whisper instructions
on how to disassemble a soul,
start with the mouth,
silence is safest.
The eyes still plead.
