A link to the Scrivener article, since the one going around is a screenshot, doesn't have the actual link, AND no alt-text, making it useless.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Basil would like to report a crime. His human put him in the big tub that he can't jump out of and cleaned him. Even his butt is wet.

His human would like him to understand that by wiping his dirty butt on her rug, he asked for this.

Probably the last outdoor urban sketching meetup for the year. It was getting quite chilly, but Halloween in the Village was a fun event to capture.

We're getting a wave of articles that are like, "gee willikers it sure seems like the people who complained about 'cancel culture' for years really like canceling people."

Yes! This was extremely obvious at the time and a lot of us pointed it out!
Some say canceling is an act of redress. Others blame it on a mob.

“People have used the word ‘cancel’ so loosely,” Ernest Owens author of “The Case for Cancel Culture,” said, “that everyone’s calling everything a cancellation.”
How cancel culture came for everyone
Few issues in recent years have united the American right as much as their professed hatred of cancel culture. That’s changing.

Almost 2 years ago, while preparing the wet basement for water proofing, I found this old portrait of me done in NYC in a very water-damaged frame.

I finally got up the courage to pry the frame apart, and it's OKAY.

Ironically, it appears that AI chatbots hallucinate for the same reason that students feel compelled to use them:

They were socialized in a high-stakes testing culture that rewards guessing and maybe getting it right over admitting when there's something you just don't know.
