I remember Literary Twitter being super anti-first person and anti-second person. I got anxiety every time I read those critical tweets cause my hacky ass loves first person. Moral of the story, write what you want and keep practicing.
learned that online fiction writing advice widely disparages the third person omniscient perspective now, referring to it as "head hopping," because it's supposed to be too confusing for readers. i never remember hearing this when i was younger. many great novels across genres are written this way.
